Coaching

At the Winchester Tennis and Squash Club, we see our junior section as vital to the development of the Club and have promoted and sponsored a range of initiatives over the past few years to welcome new juniors into the Club.

Coaching is available at the Club with our Head Squash Coach, ex Welsh Junior International Gary Hinton.

Gary joined The Winchester Tennis and Squash Club in 2006 he is currently an England Level 3 Squash Coach. Gary, with the help of a number of assistant coaches, runs junior training for beginner, improver and performance squads throughout the week together with individual coaching, training sessions for any age or standard of player.

Our Junior coaching program is one of the best in the country. Every day during term time, we have squads running for different ages and abilities. During the off season we have some intensive summer squash camps - this year the highlights included Alex Gough and his master class on deception. He then played an exhibition against Tim Vail. We had video analysis ofall matches throughout the week. Oh and of course we had some tough, tough fitness- see opposite for pictures of the St Catherines Hill challenge!

Monday: 2-3pm Westgate School.

5-6pm Ramy Ashour Squad (under 15's improvers).

6-7:30 Tournament Squad (elite performance, under 19's)

Tuesday: 1pm Schools Coaching (mini squash)

4-5pm under 13's improver squad

5-6pm Amr Shabana Squad (under 13's performance squad)

6-7:30pm Tournament Squad (elite performance, under 17's)

Wed: 4-5pm under 11's mini squash

5-6 under 13's beginner squad

5-6 under 13's girls beginner squad

6-7 under 17's girls advanced squad

Thurs: 4-5pm under 11's performance squad

5-6 under 13's performance squad

6-7:30 under 17's performance squad.

Fri: 3:30-5pm Junior leagues matches.

5-6pm 17's performance squad

Sat: 1:3:30 junior mix (all standards, all ages)

Sunday: 11-12pm Mini Squash
