slazenger open 2008

“Grade 2” status for this year’s 16’s and 18’s events…..

While the Slazenger tournament will no longer be an ITF event, we are pleased to announce that the 18’s and 16’s events in this year’s tournament will have grade 2 status. The tournament has always attracted the cream of British junior players and grade 2 status will ensure that the quality of our entry will not be affected by the loss of the ITF/Tennis Europe events.

The Slazenger Open 2008 will take place from 14-19th July. The events in the tournament are

  • boys & girls18 & under singles grade 2
  • boys & girls 16 & under singles grade 2
  • boys & girls 14 & under singles grade 3
  • boys & girls 12 & under singles grade 3
  • men’s & ladies’ singles grade 3

There will also be 18’s, 16’s as well as men’s and ladies’ open doubles events.

    MINIMUM RATING REQUIREMENT
As it is no longer an ITF - tennis europe event we are not stipulating a minimum rating for entry. However as this is a grade 2 event for 16s/18s and a grade 3 for other events, we anticipate that the ratings level of accepted players will still be high and may be similar to last year.

All players are welcome to enter - as a guide please read below for the miniumum rating that was accepted in each event last year.
  • boys 18s - 5.2
  • girls 18s - 5.2
  • boys 16s - 6.2
  • girls 16s - 8.1
  • boys 14s - 7.2
  • girls 14s - 9.1
  • boys 12s - 9.2
  • girls 12s - 9.2
