Ladies' tennis teams pre-season practices
The tennis ladies are planning a series of sessions before the
season starts to ensure that all lady members who wish to play any
competitive tennis for the club this coming season are aware of the
"set up and commitment" and are able to meet the various team
captains.
The practices will be on Saturday 17 March from 3pm to 6pm, Sunday
1 April from 2 to 5 pm and Sunday 15th April from 11am to
1pm. Indoor and outdoor courts will be booked for all three
practice sessions.
The club runs ladies teams for all ages and a range of abilities,
in open and veteran age groups, both local leagues and national
knockout events, plus mixed tennis. Much of the inter club
tennis is played in the April to July period, but some continues
through the rest of the summer and there are winter teams
too.
The format of our March and April practice sessions will vary but
will be competitive and encourage all abilities to come and play,
meet the team captains and socialise. All ladies who would like to
be considered for team tennis are very welcome and should attend a
minimum of one session, but ideally more than one.
On 15th April it is likely that many will wish to stay for lunch
after the practice. Please express your interest at one of
the earlier practice sessions so probable numbers can be given in
advance to the bar staff.
If you would like to be considered for one of our competitive club
teams this summer, please sign up in advance on the relevant
practice sheet/s for the sessions that you are able to
attend. The sign-up sheets will be held at the club
reception. Please sign up at least a week before the relevant
date of the practice session in order that the competitive play can
be planned in advance.
We realise not everyone can do all times, which is why we have
spread the days and times so hopefully at least one will
suit.
We hope to see you on at least one of the days, but hopefully
more.
Liz Davies, ladies captain and Monica Finlayson, winter
captain.
