Boxercise will no longer be running on Saturday's from 5pm-6pm.

Compact Core will also no longer be running as from the 17th March 2010 at 6.30pm-7.15pm

the fitness centreThe fitness centre is spacious, airy, combining the best of modern equipment with a calm and welcoming environment.

Members of the fitness centre receive an individual induction, three personalised health and fitness assessments per year, a regularly updated personal training programme and use of the Gym from 6.30am - 9.30pm Monday to Friday and 8am - 8pm at the weekends and Bank Holidays. Our experienced staff are always on hand to help and encourage you.

24 Hr Gym Challenge 14-15th May.......

The Winchester Tennis and Squash Club
Fitness Centre

24 HOUR GYM CHALLENGE

We will be holding a 24 hour gym challenge here at the fitness centre at Winchester Tennis and Squash Club in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

The Plan:
 
• 4 Teams consisting of 10-12 people, with 4 team leaders
• 12 Time Keepers
• Duration 24 hours from 7pm-7pm
• Proposed date is the 14th-15th May 2010
• Each team will spend 30 minutes exercising and 90 minutes rest.
• The team that clocks up the most kilometres within that time period will win the challenge. Prize yet to be  confirmed!
• Each team will complete pre set targets as a group e.g. Row the Nile etc
• The team leaders will be responsible for ensuring their team is warmed up sufficiently before starting and they  will deal with any problems that arise.
• Their will be a quiet area where people can sleep in between their events
• Areas for drink, water, food and motivation.


Target: 
To raise as much money as possible
All those taking part will receive fitness and nutrition advice building up to the event, and plenty of support from all the staff and members.

Publicity:
We will be using the local radio, newspaper as well as the british heart foundation themselves to advertise this event.

Studio

Our studio is a purpose built dance studio with a sprung floor and mirrors where a timetable of over 25 classes is run every week. There is something for everyone including BODY PUMP, Legs, Bums & Tums, Yoga, Aerobics, Circuit Classes and Pilates. Classes are open to Members and Non Members. Club Members receive a discount on the class fee.

A new year... a new you

A New Year A new you is the motto for 2010. Although the weather is cold and dreary the motivation to get fit is finally here once more.

There is no better time to start making those goals and being ahead of time in achieving them.
We have had a great year in the gym and it is still growing and getting better.

For all of you who feel like they need a change, book in for your review and along with the gym team, we cab help you find that all important goal to reach!

We have lots of new classes for you all to try and best of all; your fist class is “FREE”.
Pick up your voucher from the gym team or reception and start varying that fitness regime.

A studio class is the best way to keep you motivated after a hard day at work, try not to fall into the trap of “I’ll go tomorrow”, go today, you’ll feel so much better and you’ll meet some great people on the way.

Bring a friend along, as you don’t need to be a member to take part in our studio classes.
Let me give you run down of what each class entails……….

• CIRCUITS:   A fun varied class packed full of heart pounding, body sculpting exercises. Suitable for all ages and abilities

• LEGS, BUMS, TUMS: Low impact training, concentrating on deep toning.

• PILATES:   An effective, medically-approved, holistic approach to exercise. It develops body awareness, improves posture and can help rehabilitation after injury. Suitable for all abilities and ages.

• YOGA:   An eclectic fusion of traditional hatha yoga with inspiration from various other styles. It works on cardiovascular conditioning, strength building, flexibility, toning and relaxation. Run as a course.

• BODY PUMP:  A revolutionary work out that strengthens tones and defines every muscle in your body. Feel strong and get challenged. This class uses barbells and adjustable weights.

• KICK BOXING:  An all over physical workout, guaranteed to bring you out in a sweat. If you want some fast pace action, join this class and feel unleashed.

• COMPACT CORE:  A core and conditioning class using Fit balls. Suitable for all levels and ages. Own fit ball an advantage.

• AERO-ATTACK:  A dynamic aerobics class designed to cater for a wide range of fitness levels and ages. Be prepared to get jiggy with it!

• BOXERCISE:   A high energy stress busting fitness class, which combines boxing and endurance training. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
